Las Vegas Photographers Brett & Jizelle PHOTO THIEVES attempt to Silence any who expose their thievery via threat of Defamation lawsuit

April 16, 2014 | By | 2 Comments

I just received a cease & desist letter from an attorney who says that he represents Brett & Jizelle Photography, Brett Baughman, Jizelle Ashley, and The Brett Baughman Companies. I have posted the letter below in full.

The issue at hand is photo theft and copyright infringement. Sadly, it is shockingly common for unscrupulous “fauxtographers” to steal the photos of actual working photographers, and then to try to pass those stolen photos off as their own.

The photography community is very lucky to benefit from the tireless efforts of Corey Doyle Balazowich, an excellent real photographer, who meticulously documents the nefarious work of fauxtographers before they have a chance to take down (and deny) their thievery.

Her website “Stop Stealing Photos” is a “wall of shame [that] is dedicated to photographers that feel that it’s okay to steal others work and post it as their own.” Read More

Kara and Patrick at Springs Preserve – the joys of Second Shooting

April 13, 2014 | By | No Comments

Sometimes my photographer friends invite me to 2nd shoot for them. Not only do I consider it a great privilege (thank you Josh Barut!). But I *love* second shooting, because it’s what I hear grandparenting is like – all the fun with none of the responsibility 🙂  LOL

Because I’m not in charge of the timeline I’m able to have a little more fun. I’m there to capture stolen moments, unusual perspectives, details.

Las Vegas Photographers Brett & Jizelle Steal Photos

April 9, 2014 | By | 3 Comments

I don’t like that I am again blogging on a fauxtographer (Brett & Jizelle Photography) who steals the photography of other, real photographers, removes their watermark, overlays their own fraudulent watermark, posts that stolen work all over the Internet as their own, yet makes no apologies, no confession, and keeps on presenting themselves as an honest, qualified, skilled photographer. But here we go again.

This happens probably much more than you realize. To see the nearly daily documentation of petty thieves who steal photos like Las Vegas Wedding Photographers Brett & Jizelle Photography, all you need do is read Corey Doyle Balazowich’s excellent and depressing blog “Photo Stealers“, a “wall of shame [that] is dedicated to photographers that feel that it’s okay to steal others work and post it as their own.”

Las Vegas Wedding Photographers Brett & Jizelle ( | Photography) have been very busy promoting themselves all over as the newest Las Vegas Wedding Photographer, Las Vegas Engagement Photographer, Las Vegas Boudoir Photographer, and Las Vegas Headshot Photographer. Here’s an example of where they’ve been busily promoting their fauxtography:

I have contacted Brett Baughman to let him know that I will advertise his thieving photo stealing until he publicly apologizes and takes responsibility for his actions. Until then, dear reader, please know that one of Las Vegas’ newest and most aggressively self-promoting wedding photographers (“We’re Rock Stars!”) is a fake, fauxtographer, a common unrepentant thief. Caveat emptor.

We love Las Vegas corporate event photography because corporate event photography incorporates many different kinds of photography at the same time: portrait, food, photojournalism, details, environmental. It’s very challenging and rewarding. Bonus – we get to be around some of the most talented and ambitious people in the world. Extra bonus: the chefs usually insist we sample some of their amazing cuisine and libations. So, OK!
