I am delighted every time anyone hires me to document their event be it a wedding, an elopement, an engagement, a corporate party, a new restaurant menu or something else. But I am especially honored whenever military personnel ask me along, particularly when the groom’s sister is a professional wedding photographer back East. This bride and groom are both active military with multiple combat tours under their belts. If they got a little crazy in Vegas, isn’t that what Vegas is for? And has anybody earned crazy time more than a combat Apache helicopter pilot and combat nurse? These guys were uniformly fun, gracious and wicked high energy. Enjoy these skillfully lighted photos of a rocking Las Vegas Party Bus, a group photo at the Welcome to Las Vegas Sign, and a grand finale photo in front of the Bellagio Fountain.
While I personally touch, edit, tone, crop, straighten, color correct, tweak, massage and ZINGify every single image that I deliver to my clients, I do almost all of this work in every photographer’s favorite Frenemy, Lightroom.
I do not and cannot take most images into Photoshop for advanced editing, as I’ve done on the above image, as it would slow down edits terribly, further delaying the time between our shoot and the delivery of images. I already take longer than I’d like – promising 6-10 weeks. Doing advanced Photoshop editing every image would probably double that time.
However, every image that makes it into our clients’ albums or wall prints that we print for them DO get Extra Special advanced Photoshop editing Love.
I call Lightroom a Friend because it is the super streamlined way to professionally process thousands of images at a time. It is probably the single most important piece of application software a photographer depends upon.
And depend upon we do, making Lightroom our Enemy, also. Photographers who do not outsource post-processing to 3rd parties (I’ve tried – not happy with the results) spend an enormous amount of time in Lightroom (LR), even though editing photos in LR is dramatically faster than editing in Photoshop or Bridge or anything else.
This is why Lightroom is the Frenemy of every photographer who edits his/her own work.
SO, the moral of this story is, one of the many benefits of ordering an album or wall print from us is that your gorgeous images get even more advanced, super personalized custom editing before they go to print.
More of this sexy saucy fun Old Vegas Downtown Las Vegas Neon Fremont Street Wedding Elopement Photography session RIGHT NOW!
Did I mention that we seem to attract *really fun* couples? And that we have *A LOT OF FUN* when we go out and shoot? I don’t think my kids would describe me as “fun”, but the fact that I LOVE photographing weddings and elopements and I have a blast doing it seems to come banging through in the photos. The fact that we bring feather-light studio quality lighting is just a bonus.
These guys Caitlin and Dave were A HOOT! and you can see how relaxed and happy they were the whole time we spent together, which was like 3 hours. Time flies for me, but I do find that a longer shoot with more location variety often gives up some of the best images. We get into a groove. We get comfortable. And my couples are usually kind of walking on a cloud – I mean THEY JUST GOT MARRIED! so of course they’re happy! We’re all happy!
Please enjoy these photos and this cool and sexy couple! And thanks to everybody who ever has and ever will honor me with the privilege of recording unforgettable images of some of your most important life events.
Just a quick tease from a recent Las Vegas Elopement session in funky fun downtown Las Vegas, aka Old Vegas or Fremont Street. These guys came all the way from down under Australia (Brits who now live in Oz) to tie the knot in Vegas.
We completely get elopements. While they’ve got loads of friends and family back in both Australia and England, like so many of the 300 people who get married in Vegas every day ( 0_o ) I think they wanted the hassle-free simplicity of a Vegas elopement for now.
And did I mention that they wanted to have FUN? Seems all the Brits who come to Vegas just wanna have a good time! We love Brits & Aussies. We wish these guys all the happiness in their new life together! Keep checking back here for photo updates! Cupid happened to be parked in our same parking garage. Cupid can smell young love. And fear. Beware!
This post is about neon, neon, neon. In this post I mean to give the newcomer an idea of what sort of neon and neon sign options are available when hiring a Vegas photographer for an elopement, a wedding ceremony, or just ‘cuz you want some neon in your life!
